480 volt fuse safety

I saw these fuses in a 480 volt bus bar disconnect and the contact points of the fuses had small cracks around them. I cant seem to get an answer on the cause or if its a safety issue.

Very unsafe, they need to be replaced immediately. They are stress fractures due to pressure from the clips, heat from the fuse, corrosion and time.

The reason you may have had trouble finding information is because of terminology. Those are called the "ferrules" on the ends of cartridge fuses, not "contacts".

A quick Google search on fuse ferrule failures came up with this tidbit.
