I have a 150kw 3phase 480V generator that I have been using to power a irrigation pivot and pump which is around 90KVa total. I would like the unit to be used as a backup generator for the facility that is also on site but is supplied by a 600A 240/120v service. Could I make this work, assuming I was to purchase 3x 480V - 240V /120V center tapped transformers and split the 600A panel into 3x 200A sub panels each fed by one phase? I cant see why I couldn't, but I am a farmer w an mech engineering degree and not an electrician. (I understand I would have to build an interlocking transfer switch using large contactors with, under and over voltage detection and time delays, I also understand I need to balance the load between phases as best possible)
