5" box

Have never heard a
4-11/16 Box called a 5 inch box.
Until now I've never heard the term 5 inch box used in electrical talk.

How about an "information" box? (411)
Question. This is marketed as and listed as a low-voltage information box, not listed for use at normal line voltages, so it would appear to be not usable for "normal" 120/240/208 receptacle or j-box?

In some of the old city codes such as the 1965 Los Angles electrical code there is a section (90.0207 in the '65 LA code) that spells out "Information required on Plans or Specifications" paragraph (e) states that all boxes larger than 4 inches trade size need to be shown on the plans. Therefore a 4-11/16 box would not need to be shown on plans (still 4" trade size) but a 5" box would be, hence the popularity of 4-11/16 boxes.
