I have a question on the sealing requirements for the boundary penetration from Class 1 Division 2 to a non-hazardous area, with a building pressurization system
This is my question regarding Exception No. 3
The way I read this exception is to ensure that the building pressurization system is maintained during operation in non-hazardous area, and in the event of building pressure loss the non-hazardous area shall be de energized
Or a building pressurization system alarm must be installed, and monitored continuous to give signal of loss of building pressurization, and that the alarm system must include a visual or audible alarm. And it shall be the authority having jurisdiction to determine if the building power is to be removed
I always use a seal at the boundary when changing between area classifications to be safe in the event that the alarm system is not installed by others
