I work with my Uncle (Owner of Kyp-Go) and patent holder of the Oscillating Carbon Filament Bulb -- initially called the Balafire back in the 70's. We are in limited production of a similar bulb (by hand) and have had some interest from people in Europe. We've been stumbling around trying to come up with a source for 50Hz, 120volts, with not much luck. We need this to use on our testing board. Can anyone give me some ideas? Thank you....:-?

You simply buy a frequency converter for the job.

For example see http://www.50hz.com/

Or you buy a 50Hz generator set.

If your power needs are small enough, then 50Hz portable generator may be sufficient; these are available in the US through some of the same suppliers that sell the more common 60Hz portable generators.

There are numerous approaches that could be 'cobbled together' eg using a motor and a generator tied together through suitable gearing. However building such a thing when you are not a qualified engineer falls into the realm of DIY :)

How sizable of a supply do you need? Wattage? Current rating?

Also, how soon do you need this?
