#6 nmb at 50 amp ? or 60?

Another place #6 NM is a real problem is with EV car chargers. Tesla's car charger has a setting of "Maximum Current Output of 48A and Circuit Breaker 60A". This is a situation where #6 romex is no good, but #6 MC is fine.
Not familiar enough with the application, but would say unless NEC specifies this is a continuous load somewhere it is probably acceptable to use 60C conductor for this.

625.42 Rating. The equipment shall have sufficient rating to supply the load served. Electric vehicle charging loads shall be considered to be continuous loads for the purposes of this article

That is a good example of where you cannot use the next standard size up rule.
