I am working for a company where the owner has me installing a 600 amp service to a laundrymat. My question is he wants me to come from the supply side of severice to a fused disconnect, then a CT Cabinet, then the MDP. IS this even legal? I have always gone to the CT, Disconnect, MDP.

The NEC does not care what order it is but the power company will. Depending on the power company rules the CT can be before or after the service disconnect.

CT before the disconnect is called hot sequence metering

CT after the disconnect is called cold sequence metering.

ty for your prompt reply. I have done quite a few of these, and with this particular Utility, and I have not seen this before, I have seen it when the Ct cabinet was inside the building. This is in Reading,PA and the local utility is MET-ED. I have been trying to find their specs online but I am having trouble
Finding it.

Yeah I found that as well but it doesnt seem to load so I guess I will have to find it by calling the Met-Ed foreman. ty for the responses it is really nice to get a little help, there is always something to learn :)
