600volt to 208

I'm changing out parking lot lighting from 600volt to 208 volt ( 480 not an option ) existing lighting is wired a-b, b-c, and c-a down the line, this may sound stupid but will i run into any problems with just a straight change-out of lamps and ballasts and using existing conductors ( trans. will be 600d down to 208y )....thanks

That is a very interesting voltage. Are you located in the US?

If you are replacing all, you are going to be increasing your current by better than 2 fold so conductor ampacity and voltage drop may be a major issue.

Aside from the current concerns mentioned above, it should work fine with 208v-rated ballasts. You'll effectively have Delta loads.

While you can, and probably should, bond the secondary neutral, you won't need to run it to the lights, just the usual EGC.
