If I place a pool with the waters edge 10 feet horizontally from a power line, does this eliminate the 22.5 feet clearance from the water level in any direction?

My 2005 NEC Handbook shows a diagonal line. Would I have to measure a 22.5 feet diagonal line from the water surface to my 10 foot horizontal limit also?

680.8 (a) states any direction.

680.8(c) states limits extend to 10 feet.

Thanks

My take is if the power line is 10 feet or more from the inside edge of the pool, then you are good to go. Once inside that 10 feet then you must meet the vertical clearance.

I take back my statement. I agree with Dennis!

Maaan Dennis, give me a chance before you start jumping on my last!

It says: With respect to service drop conductors and open overhead wiring, swimming pool and similar installations shall comply with the minimum clearances given in Table 680.8

I vote 22.5 feet clearance in any direction as specified in T. 680.8
what would clearance C be referring to?

I know,

I was too focused on the title of 680.8 (C) Network-power broadband Communication System. Didn't even read (C) or look at the table 680.8--under letter (C)

I guess I'm allowed two mistakes on this site!
