I had someone ask me today if it was okay to run a HV line (69kV) in an old 30" CS Pipe that was once used as a crude oil pipeline. I looked all over and can't find something that says yes or no. The distance is about 20 miles. Obviously the pipeline will be cleaned and sealed at each end, and there will be a nitrogen blanket in the pipe to keep critters out, as well as arcing potential to be minimized.
I'm stumped.
