725 Signal Circuits

What class are the thermostat wires for an A/C unit considered? I looked in article 725 and I couldnt figure out which class they would fall under. The reason Im asking is because an A/C co. I do work for keeps running their thermostat wires in the conduit I feed the condensor with. Isnt this a code violation? Thanks.

You have to look on the power supply transformer. it should say class 2

I've seen it done before, and yes it is illegal

Russ is correct, it is a code violation. See 725.54
