According to 200.6 (A) Does this mean we can no longer indentify the grounded conductor at the termination points? For instance, can a black wire being used as the grounded conductor as long as it identified with white tape ( 208 VAC) where it is exposed in an enclosure and terminations? Is this old school wiring? Do I need to get with the times? If so, what is the spacing between the three continuious stripes along the entire length as stated in 200.6 (A) (3).

The rule that you cannot re-identify conductors #6 and smaller for use as a grounded conductor is not a new rule. That rule was in the code when I started in 1973. There have been some changes such as the use of gray and the use of three white stripes, but the main part of the rule is old.

Thats a marking method done by mfgs at the factory.

The rule on reidentificaiton is commonly violated, however 6 AWG white is stocked at my local electrical supply houses.
