Can i use two 4' ground rods , in place of one 8'ground rod ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Also you need 2 8 ft ground rods spaced no less than 6 ft apart unless you can prove a ground impedance of 25 ohms or less, so just put in 2.

Also hire a qualified electrician. Don't risk you or your family's safety.

What science is involved? There's no serious evidence to suggest that even a complete lack of a grounding electrode system presents at any real hazard.
There's tons of evidence. Tiny amounts of current in water can cause muscles to restrict and you can drown. Keeping all metal systems and the equipment ground at equipotential to ground helps reduce potential differences in respect to your body's connection to ground and other metal surfaces you come into contact with. It's science!

Also where would static discharge from say a lightning strike go should it strike any metal system of your home?

For starters, where does one find a 4’ ground rod? Come on people, seriously.

Never mind , probably right next to the one that just got cut in half.

Equipotential bonding has nothing to do with grounding. It’s science!

Unfortunately the only way this would work is to have an elaborate conductive grid or mat. A bunch of rods is not going to do anything no matter how long they are. That is not their purpose.
