8 Machines from China (380V/3P) - Can I run them on ONE transformer/circuit?

Wow, such a wealth of information. I really appreciate all the responses.

I heard back from the manufacturer (indirectly- meaning, through my Mandarin speaking customer) and they assure me that the machines are fine at 60hz.

The UL listing question is a good one. I will have to see if the machines have any UL listing on them.

Don't you mean that applying 50Hz to a 60Hz coil can overheat it?
Because of increased reactive current and possible core saturation?

That’s been my assumption. I learned it the hard way… melted coils that jammed contactor or relay armatures in the closed condition so they wouldn’t drop out. Not fun. It’s not that difficult to make a coil that will work fine on 50/60Hz, it’s just that many mfrs don’t and you never know for sure unless you read every one.

I used to work for a German controls company and we had our own panel shop. We would get a lot of business from people importing machinery from Germany with IEC based control panels that they needed fixed but local electricians would have trouble reading the ”Ginglish” manuals and IEC wiring diagrams to troubleshoot them. One of the most common problems was the 50Hz coils burning up. That was a long time ago now, so maybe it has become better, I just don’t like taking chances.

I would place this high on my question list. ()probably as #1) OSHA and/or your local jurisdiction could throw a wrench in the entire install if the equipment is not UL or other APPROVED NRTL listed.
Augie is correct. I hold that wrench and will use it. UL or other APPROVED NRTL is required.

99.99% chance it will not…

And if they tell you it is “CE labeled” and imply that’s good enough, that would be incorrect, CE means diddly-squat here.
I doubt the machines themselves would be listed anyway. The control panels for the machines should be listed though.
