On a residential job with an 800A Service Panel (no main feeder) that breakes down into 6 feeder breakers. 5X 200A - all attached to loaded subpanels, then 1X 125A that is not wired. The service panel was built with a UL certfied load side bus tap. The home is new and has just completed inspections, we are adding solar and going to connect via the bus taps. I have an engineer that is telling me the 800Amp Service can not, by code have 5x 200A feeders because it does not have an 800Amp main breaker to limit total current, but I do not have a reference to support that comment. Anyone got something that I can point to or dig in on that would say you can't put 1000amp (5x 200amp) on that service panel without an 800Amp main???
