A/C disconnet location

I heating company I know got in trouble for replacing an A/C compressor, with an existing disconnect attached to the side of the unit. The complaint was that the company should have relocated the disconnect to a location 18" above grade. In Chicago.
Is there any spec as to the height of a disconnect?

How high: Maximum 6ft 7in. to top of throw.
To my knowledge there is no minimum height.
May be a Chicago thing......

Not an NEC thing, must be a local code as qcroanoke suggested.

Sorry to take so long to reply. I only had my Chicago code book and there is no section 404.
I needed to get a nec to see what 404 was. Switches are 380 here. So thanks again.
