A/C double tap - main breaker - code seaking

hey all....

I have a home that has a certain dilemma that I think is legal, I just can't seem to find or know if a code exists for it.

basically the A/C line is spliced at the main breaker - so if you were to kill the house at the main breaker, the A/C would still be hot. I have to know whether this is legal, and if so, what code confirms it. I have a picture for reference also...

No, the tap is not legal unless the terminals are marked for more than one conductor, and they fall within the proscribed size range.

Then, there are the tap rules which limit the length, difference in size, and other factors governing unfused taps, and disco locations.

The section that you've posted is for tap rules. Also the two conductors under one lug likely violated 110.14(A), last sentence.
