well maybe he should be more careful, or carry an extension cord instead of rigging the disconnect.
My point is, you cant stop stupidity. And you can only minimize accidents. Why doesnt the code enforce breaker locks for EVERY breaker in the panel? Why ONLY the equipment??

And about money: I couldnt care less about $100 to add a service outlet. I would prefer to spend that time setting up an industrial machine, which is worth $1000.

Its a redundant and worthless code. Period.

And many of us think your wrong.

But you could always put in a code change proposal, the form is in the back of the NEC and you have about a week to get it in for the 2011 NEC.

If you're ready to do something about it, fill out the form and submit your opinion to the NFPA for the CMP to rule on.
 
Alright alright maybe a little idiotic, I know there is nothing I can do about it. A proposal would almost certainly get shut down. I was just thinking someone else might feel the same way.

Oh well, I won't vent here again.
