Obviously, something happened.

And 99 44/100% of us have no idea what. Including me. This is kind of like hearing the punchline of a joke, but it's not funny because you didn't hear the whole thing ("I wasn't sick... Chunks is my dog!").

So for all of us who are in the dark, I ask, "Why are we hanging out dirty laundry out for all to see?"

this whole escapade has escalated to absurd proportions....no matter what you do in this world, you will offend someone (whether intentionally or not)...should you run around just apologizing to everyone? or maybe not do anything, for fear that it may offend someone....I happen to agree with george regarding the PM's and the mods...and if you feel threatened by something written on a computer, buy someone hundreds or thousands of miles away, there is a big problem.

You are right about the absurdity.

Someone sends an offensive PM and the receiver makes it public, and you want to blame the receiver? And you want to blame me because I think it is wrong to send someone offensive PM's.

That's absurd all right.

I'll wager that if there was an apology at all, it was only because of the public exposure.

Whatever the receiver feels or doesn't feel is irrelevent... the sender is wrong. That's the point that needs to be supported by the people in this forum. Not that someone violated the sacred privacy of someone acting like a jerk.

Real 'Ol' man As far as I know this thread is not about the PM, it is about the original thread.

Now, as far as the PM, the sender of the PM was wrong, so was the recipient of the PM for deciding the best action would be a public posting of the PM. That accomplishes nothing other then stirring up trouble.

This is a direct and open invitation to all members here, if you ever receive a PM you find disturbing contact a Moderator, any of them. We will try to help in anyway we can. We can not help if we do not know about it.

I will also point out you can block anyone you want from sending you PMs

It should be noted that if you receive a PM that you find wildly inappropriate, you can forward it to a moderator if you feel it necessary.

PMs have contributed to certain members being banned in the past.

I'm not saying someone complaining to the moderators will result in a ban, I'm just saying that we are here and can be involved if needed. It's really not appropriate to post the PM publicly.

We can't read anyone else's PM's, but if someone comes forward with something we can try to resolve it without a lot of fireworks, such as we had this weekend.

If I recall correctly, the sender claimed that he submitted an apology for the PM, privately.
Well said George...... May I add that one can go to "MY Profile" and edit out other members from sending a PM to them..

The lesson from this is: to Ignore or Report the PM to the Moderators..

I know I can block people from sending PM s.

I wonder if he apologized from Exile.

I give up.

Ethics? what's that?

I can assure you he did not and he will not, nor did he threaten anyone in any way, he has a sense of humor. Maybe a little over the top but a sense of humor no less. Something some people here a severely lacking.

Hi Yo Silver....away!
