i snapped these one night last week.

it was getting down in the low 20's, and a bunch of the other subs wouldn't come to work without the heat on.

this is a remodel so the heat pump and wiring were already installed. the service had been removed to replace the siding.

contractor put in a rush job to get the heat on for those crybabies. what would they have done if this were a new construction in the rough phase?

anyway, i ended up there until almost 9PM trying to get this service built for the POCO to reconnect the next day. the transfer switch came off the customers existing house; i sold it to them just a few months ago, and they wanted to bring it over to the new place.

it meets code, but it just looks fugly to me. i couldn't find a feed-thru panel with main lugs only that day, so i ended up w/ a disconnect feeding a 200A transfer switch, feeding another panel w/ a main breaker, which was feeding an interior panel w/ a main breaker (original service was SEU; no disco outside).

its on the side of the house; its low because the HO is going to have a fence going around that side and we wanted it to be somewhat hidden.

there is no slip fitting because that conduit is just a stub in the dirt. that particular poco runs URD to the meter base.

it still pains me to look at the pics though. :)

Who's transfer switch is that (manufacturer)?

So in the pic, that's a WP panel to the left of the transfer switch? Then there is another panel inside? Why is that?

that's a QOM2; 200A disconnect. the transfer switch is not service entrance rated, so I had to put a disconnect ahead of it. there is a panel to the right of it w/ a disconnect because i couldn't get an outdoor 200A MLO panel. to be honest i'm not even sure if square D makes such a panel, but if they did, i couldn't come up with it within a day.

Yeah my other left - doh. I should have said to the right of the transfer switch.

Thanks
