I am under contract to wire a new 3 story house that will be a steel frame and AAC block and panels for the walls, ceilings, and roof. The blocks just got delivered to the site the other day, and I took a small sample trim block with me for fooling around and experimentation purposes. The stuff is quite different than any concrete block I ever ran across before. First is it is very lightweight. Second thing that was quite fun is you can pound romex staples into it with about the same effort as treated lumber requires. It drills out with spade bits in a cordless. I didn't try using a skillsaw on it yet, cause I would rather watch a carpenter ruin a sawblade before I sacrifice one of mine, but I bet it wont be too much for the blade to handle. It was also really easy to drill a sheetrock screw into it with a cordless, but I cannot just pull them strait out with my kliens, they need to be reversed out. This is going to be an interesting project.
