Above Ground Pool Bonding

The question is do you have to bond ever stantion/Support around the pool. Or do you only have to bond 4 points

If all of the pools metal parts are bolted together you only need to bond it once. Four isolated metal sections would require bonding at four points.

My understanding is that an above ground pool is the same as a storable pool which does not require bonding. I thought the same as you but I think Mike is correct. art. 680.2 definitions. Unless the above ground pool is partially in the ground and holds water more than 42" then it is a permanentlt installed pool.

I agree with you regarding storable pools. I did say permanently installed pools which is defined as a water depth greater than 42". Not every above ground pool is a storable pool.

IMO 42" is the key.

Less than 42" storable, more than 42" permanent....unless it's plastic.

The trend nowadays is to partially bury the "above ground" pool, making them more or less a permanent installation.

Much cheaper than your traditional "cement pond" ... :grin:
