Anybody know the code on positioning for a low voltage, above ground, pool lighting transformer?

I haven't wired an above ground pool light without a deck before and this transformer comes with a 20 ft cord to the light which would typically plug into an outlet underneath the deck to comply with the spacing of outlets rule.. However, for permanently installed pools the lighting installation instructions call for the transformer to be directly mounted to a pool membrane and to be hardwired in pvc back to power.

It'll obviously be gfci protected, but I just don't know that you're allowed to mount a transformer that close to the pool. And if you can't, what is the proper way to do it without having a wire flopping from the transformer to the light?

Any insight would be great. Thanks

So are these lights mounted in the wall of the above ground pool?

Best I can show you is 680.33

I assume there is a way to run pvc from the light to to the transformer. I suspect the receptacle is allowed under the deck/pool since the 6' measurement could not be enforced unless it is open underneath and you reach it from the pool edge. Put it in the middle of the pool under the deck or better yet move it 6' from the edge of the pool under the deck.

The light is mounted to the wall of the pool and there is no deck. The line in accepts pvc, but from the transformer to the light, all that's possible to run is the cord.

I don't believe mounting the transformer away and having the cord run across the ground would be acceptable, as it's a walkway, but again, I'm not really sure how to tackle it. It's a poorly designed light imo
