A customer installed an above ground pool (approx 50 inches water depth) with pump with about a 24" twist lock cord. The pump is installed close to the pool beside a retaining wall and not where I can install an outlet 6' away with such a short cord. Can I replace the cord with a longer one or can I cut it and j box it and extend it to get 6' away from the pool? Is this considered a 'permanent pool' with this depth ? 680.2 Definitions. If so, is pool required to be bonded ? Thank you.

Is that a factory cord or one the homeowner added? If it's factory, then I think either will void the listing.
I would say factory, it has a twist lock plug I notice 680.8 A says flexible cord may not be more than 3' length. Maybe that's why it is short, I'd say about 24" I wonder if the installer should have placed the pump farther away.
