Does AC disconnect require 3 foot clearance in front of it if it does not contain any fuses? Please advise. Thank you!

welocme to the forum.
That is possibly a bit debatable and a AHJ decision, but, when discussed here previously, the vast majority of folks have been of the opinion that such an installtion is subject to 110.26.
When you rear the wording it seems difficult to argue otherwise.

(A) Working Space. Working space for equipment operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground and likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance while energized shall comply with the dimensions of 110.26(A)(1), (A)(2), and (A)(3) or as required or permitted elsewhere in this Code.

IMO it applies to those disconnects. If the unit is not running one of the first things you'll do is open the cover on the disco and check for voltage while energized.

If cmp did all ya gotta do is move some furniture. It would be a bit difficult to move a condenser though, line set attached, etc......agreed? See my point?

Never had one push it that far but AC disconnects i agree need to have work space. I do my own AC repairs and if one of them stops first i check breaker to see if triped then volt meter at disco, being its outside and maybe in rain i sure do want work space.

Jim lets hope they dont push it that far. However, they way the code cycle changes are going it may happen. At my age thank heavens I wont see it.
