Is it required to install an outside Gfi for a new A/C installation in an existing house for the condenser? It is not part of a remodel. Also how about the Air handler in the attic for the same job, is a light and a receptacle required for existing...I know I would do it but the customer is a bit cheap :)

In my opinion yes it is required.

The installation is new, not existing.

Had you simply been replacing an existing condenser my opinion would change to no.

The only opinion that matters will be that of the inspector.

Bob,
You're bringing tears to my eyes.

It's like a dream come true to see Bob come over to the dark side and support us sith lords

You need a receptacle (GFCI) within 25' of the condensor. My area requires one even if the condensor is a replacement only.

Light, receptacle needed at air handler also.
