Hello.

GC is telling my we have to run full conduit to wherever we locate the xfrmr.

The job is all gyp board ceiling, and they are not in installing access door. Need to try and mount the xfrmr as close to the urinals as possible.

Can it be mounted in the ceiling above a light or diffuser as there would be access there? Thanks

If above the ceiling is a return air plenum and there is a return air grill in the ceiling you could possibly mount if above that. If not they're going to have to provide an access door whether they like it or not. It says that within 25' so maybe it can be mounted above the ceiling in an adjacent room with an access door. We recently had something similar where they didn't any access doors in the bathrooms so we mounted our lighting transformers outside of the room above the ceiling.

Is there a drop ceiling on the other side of the bathrooms? That's where I usually show them to be. Also, I did not think it was allowed to use a light fixture as an access for electrical equipment any longer. But I could be wrong.
