ACFI breakers and common neutrals

I have seen branch/feeder type arci breakers with 2 poles. The breaker manufacturer listed them to be used with common neutral circuits. These are the old type and not the new combination afci. Does anyone know why they are not making the newest breakers with 2 poles?

Maybe they're trying to perfect the single pole version first.

I have heard that there are no plans to make them.

If that is the case, then even an old type afci is better than no protection at all for these type of circuits.

From what I have been told they are definetly making 2 pole combination AFCI's for use with MWBC's and should be out sometime mid 2009
