Quit worrying about the Mule, and load the wagon!!:D
Hey, your not much help... Hey that reminds me.....We got to see a 8Mule hitch, of 19hand tall Mules a couple of weeks ago at Silver Dollar City, pulling a wagon...pretty impressive.......Im getting ''off topic" I''ll do better....the moderators will be after me...

Ive been experiencing a increase in what I believe is inflamed tenons in the tops of my arms between my wrist and elbows, as well as muscle cramps in my hands. Ive been pretty busy, and contribute it to just getting older and doing alot with my hands... Been using Ibuprofin and Absorbine Jr, which works well, but the wife wont get close to me...:D

Anybody else having this issue??....vitamins? hydrates? Icy-hot? vacation?

The Ibprofin has to be taken on a regular schedule. The inflimation has trouble healing when it is inflamed. The Ibprofin will reduce the inflimation.
Then it will heal. You can take 3000 mg's a day.
The doctor can prescribe some 800 mg. tablets. that are easier on your stomach then the over counter ones.

OK...Im taking 4 ibuprofins and going to bed now....Now that the absorbine Jr smell has sub-sided a bit....:D

Aleve works really well for me but you just cant take it for too long it will upset your stomach. That wrap that Marc showed works great too. I wore one last year and it was like "Magic". Ive been getting back into running for the past few months and its done wonders for my energy level. That and eating a health diet.I used to have at least two to three breakfast sandwiches a week or bagels with cream cheese. Not any more. I know I sound corney but eversince I change my eating habits I feel like Im ten years younger. No dips in energy level through the day. And Ive lost 12 pounds and lost one waist size. I laugh when I hear a twenty somethig tell me "Oh man Im beat". I say really come on Im 10 years older than you how can you be tired? Its all about what you put in your body, im telling you guys just try it youll be amazed how much better you feel.

back in the day... i used to race desert.... so i understand chiropractic
really well.... :)

i haven't done any heavy wire in a while, y'know.... like the parallel
500's on a cramped breaker stuff... when i do heavy industrial, i feel
it in my arms and elbows, for the first couple weeks.... and my arms
aren't as strong as they are when i'm working out with 4" gal, etc.

i have an excellent chiropractor, and that takes care of most stuff...
about a year ago, i had a pinched nerve in my left shoulder that almost
disabled me for a month. nothing worked, chiropractic, physical therapy,
zip.... the only time i was free from pain was when i was floating in the
pool.... and i tried CST (cranial sacral therapy)..

halfway thru the first session, i thought... "this is a total crock"....
but completed it anyway.... and then about 3 or 4 days later,
i realized with a shock, that i had no pain anywhere in my body.
no stiffness, aches, joint pain, nothing. total freedom from pain.

did the CST have anything to do with it? dunno. maybe it's a
coincidence, but my next door neighbor who has had debilitating
migranes since she was a little punkin also goes, and she is fine
now....

the lady i go to is jill mabry, cst. if ya google her, you'll find out more.

good luck with that... pain sucks.

One of the best things anyone can do for themselves to prevent injury from the type of work we do is daily stretching and range of motion exercises, think of it as preventative maintenance for your body. Most chronic pain injuries from daily work are caused from overusing certain muscles/joints/tendons repeatedly, or from one area of muscle and/or tendons picking up slack for another that is lacking (Ex.- Lower back muscles working OT to pick up the slack where your core left off). Everyone should at least take a few minutes a day to lightly stretch and rotate and shake out the most used joints and muscles in our trade.

FWIW, I was involved in an accident a few years back that left me with a very bad C5-C6 herniation and nerve damage to my Brachial Plexus, immediately following the accident I could barely move my right arm and only regained about 25% strength & motion back in the next week or so (this was very scary), after a few MRI's and some visits to a few Orthopedic Surgeons they had decided that due to the risk involved surgery would only be an option if slow and steady PT showed absolutely no improvement, one of the surgeons I had met with had even made a joke about how the only thing that would warrant him cutting that part of my spine open would be if I started losing control of my bladder function caused from spinal nerve damage (as jokey as he was about it I knew there was some truth to the statement) Anyhow moral of this story is that I was in PT 4 times a week for 16 weeks, the only thing we focused on was range of motion/stretching and very light weights. After 16 weeks my neck and shoulder were almost 100% doing just that stuff, and I am telling you I could not even lift a 3 pound weight straight off the side of my body for the first half of this PT, nor could I look fully to my right (again, I was in my early 20's at the time and in good physical condition when this happened so it was very scary to me when I lost these abilities.) To this day I try to stay active and flexible (I am 32 now) and the second I start to slack on this stuff the irritations start to creep in, the physical therapist I had was a fitness freak (Ironman competitions etc..) and really drilled it into my head about the bodies ability to overcome injury as well as the need to stay flexible and limber as we age. Sure I have a day here and there where I can tell I had trauma in the area but for the most part staying in shape keeps me in shape, it will work the same for all of you to, I promise.

If you have constant problems I'd suggest some physical therapy. I had/have carpel tunnel type symptoms and found Active Release technique a godsend.
Find a Chiropractor in your area who is certified

www.activerelease.com

This is totally different than standard chiro techniques, they work the area where you have the issues, trying to breakup the scar tissue in the connective tissues around your ligaments, muscles etc. Worked for me and it works for many athletes. A good chiro probably helps also:)

had a rotor cup injury a few years back and the doc wanted to give me a shot in the shoulder. ok sure if it will help. so he comes out with this needle and man i swear it must have been two feet long.so he gets it in there and says this is going to burn just a little and yeow you lieyin #&^$.

it felt like he had tobasco sauce in that thing. but i got one more about a month later and been pretty good ever since. itll flare up every now and then but nothing you cant work through.

ive also had arthritis in my knees since i was about 16 and alieve and bengay are a godsent.

I had those shots in my heel, once from my doctor which I left claw marks in his table and about hit him for it, and then again from my prescribed foot doc, which hardly hurt at all. I asked him what the difference was, and he said there are different strengths of cortasone, and, it helps to know where NOT to stick the needle...

I had problems like this. I would have pain and numbness from my hands all the way up my arms and into my shoulders. It would really get bad at night when I was sleeping. I would get up in the middle of the night and walk around shaking my arms until the pain went away but it would return a few hours later.

Had carpel tunnel surgery done on both wrists and life is good. :)
Haven't had any problems since.

Now if I could just cure my trigger finger.
