I added a small flourecent fixture on the load side of my small appliance gfci receptacle. The fixture is over the kitchen sink. My thinking was for protection if you had one hand in the dish water and one hand touching the fixture. I just want to the reason this not exceptable wiring, are this is just a local issue?

Thanks Eddie

The code does not require GFCI on a light fixture over the sink, however if you want to do that you may but you are not permitted, as Marc has stated, to wire a light from the SABC. Try to find another circuit to get the power from.
