can some one tell me the best way to handle this situation. i have a diner
that is getting new equipment and is much too large for the electic service.
i need a added 200 amps of 3 phase 240volts 4 wire electrcity. it has a 400amp 3phase 4 wire service now and i like to know is there anyway to get an added meter with 200 amps seperate from the 400amp service using the ct now.
if i run a parrell 200amp the business would have to close down, which is hard to do. any ideas on how to get a added 200amp service ?

my first stop would be with your local POCO. From your post, I assume you dont have CT metering. Some utilities will let you add the second service and CT meter both, strapping out the present one. It's a simple solution , if they will work with you.

utilities normally provide for another meter if the customer can meet a few requirements. if a building has two separate businesses not related to one another, or have different owners, etc. the utility will be able to assist you
