A gun-wire tap is the standard sale for me, but a home run is the upsell that I try hard to get. There are many valid reasons that you can give for the home run sale. I do the home runs in CAT5e, but do gun-wire taps with CAT3 or even station wire; whatever happens to be handy on the truck. If they don't bite on the upsell, I'm absolutely going to use junk cable.
