Is it ok to run additional circuits through receptacle box.
Other circuits from the same system?? Yes.
It is OK even from different systems. Like 120V for the receptacles and 277 for the lighting in the same box is OK.
And do not have one circuit using a lower voltage wiring insulation than the other.
Well sorta. As long as the lowest rated insulated wire is rated for the highest voltage present in the box, you could have mixed values.
300.3(C) Conductors of Different Systems.
(1) 1000 Volts, Nominal, or Less. Conductors of ac and dc
circuits, rated 1000 volts, nominal, or less, shall be permitted
to occupy the same equipment wiring enclosure, cable,
or raceway. All conductors shall have an insulation rating
equal to at least the maximum circuit voltage applied to any
conductor within the enclosure, cable, or raceway.
Another words you can have a conductor that is rated at 240V and a conductor rated at 600V but the maximum voltage available in that enclosure or conduit is 240V.
