Does anyone make an industrial surface cover for Legrand Adorne devices? Honestly, I've never used an Adorne device before, so I'm not quite sure how they mount anyway, but I assume somehow they have two screws that go into the same holes that would hold a regular device in a standard outlet box.

I was looking for a somewhat rugged 0-10V dimmer, but not too expensive, and Home Depot seems to have a special price on an Adorne one. "See low price in cart." I didn't add it to the cart yet to see what the price is, but I expect it's probably well under $100. But the location where I'm putting it has a surface-mounted 4-square box for the device, so that would only make sense if I could get a 4" square surface cover for it.

I suppose I could always get a blank surface cover and use a dremel to cut out a hole. I'm not very good at machining metal, so it probably wouldn't look right.

To find out what HD wants for it, add it to your cart & it should display the amount, then empty your cart if your not ready to buy.

Ah, flat mud ring, yes I had thought of that once or twice the other day, but I forgot. Thank you for reminding me.

all of my devices at home are legrand adorne. No one makes an industrial cover, and you can't (easily) modify any existing RS cover to hold them. They do not mount directly to a box either. The wallplates are a 2-piece design with a steel back plate for the device to snap into, and then a finish plate that attaches to the back plate for covering the device. Also, the dimmers are not the standard 45mm x 45mm design; they are much larger behind the switch face, so there's no chance of cutting a hole in an RS cover for them to snap into.

Its not worth the effort. Get a P&S 0-10v toggle dimmer and be done.

This isn’t the 0-10v dimmer, but it uses the same frame. To give you an idea of what it actually looks like. These snap into support frames instead of attaching directly to a box.

What are the frames supposed to be attached to if not boxes?

I found a video. The flat mud-ring should work fine.

The Adorne face plate will probably overhang the plate a bit.

I’m not sure it’ll actually fit correctly on a mud ring. These support frames have a rail that makes them stand off about 1/8”; that’s what the product linked above is made to cover. With a device box recessed in the wall it’s not really an issue. But on a surface box it likely won’t sit correctly. And OP was asking about an RS cover also which is what I’m saying he has likely no chance of making it work.

I’ve installed these plates on flat brick walls, and you have to cut that rail off with an oscillating cutter to make it sit flat. It’s a PITA.

Along with buying the dimmer he’d also need a $10 wallplate and probably that $8 cover ring unless OP is willing to modify the support frame.

Also it would overhang the box by quite a bit. These plates are large.

You're welcome. I just re-read your OP; I don't know why I thought you wanted 2-gang.

They come in 1-gang, too, which might actually support the Adorne face-plate better.

Well, I don't have to make a decision quite yet, but after that detailed description, I'm leaning towards a more standard style device. The note I wrote to myself says
0-10V dimmer switches, probably Lutron DVSTV, unless it's apparent something else is more heavy-duty
and I just happened to see the Adorne one when I was looking at options the other day. This will be going right inside the front entrance of a convenience store, because that's where the print showed it and moving it didn't come up in my discussions with the property owner, but recently I have been thinking people might mess with it a lot in that location, so I should get something at least halfway rugged so it doesn't fall apart.
