AFCI and flourescent fixtures

How do you recommend to install these so that they work together? On suggestion was to install the fixture on a different circuit. Does anyone know of a way that keeps the installation within the NEC limits?

Not unless you can install the luminaires so they are not fed from an outlet. My understanding is a small amount of leakage is allowed in the product standard for floresent fixtures. How many fixtures are there and what type? If its just one or two I would try a different fixture.
However, an AFCI has a built in GFPE function, if you have a neutral to ground connection in a box, this may be your problem. It may not be the luminaires.

What cycle are you quoting ? 02 changed the receptacle outlet to outlet and this includes all lighting and smoke detectors.

See 210.12. If you put the light on a different circuit, that other circuit would suddenly need to be AFCI protected. :)

We install 1000`s of flourescents a year and AFCI`S tripping has not been a problem unless the breaker trips due to a line to ground/neutral fault.Now the senario of a ground to neutral fault lets say in a receptacle with nothing plugged in the receptacles, will trip when you turn a light on that circuit on ;)
I`m curious what brand of flourescents are you using that cause this :confused:
