Why close a discussion on a valid topic. What's being discussed is interpretation of a code rule. Is that not the whole point of this board? :confused: Sure, things usually get beaten to death but we are ALL guilty of making that happen.

Well there's 11 pages worth of time I'll never get back. Hard to believe I didn't have at least one useless comment in that one. :( I was almost tempted to post on that to get it back to the top where it belongs. ;)

Scott, are you implying that, at times, I can needlessly draw out an argument for argument's sake? Balderdash. :D

Let's say you are wiring an efficiency apartment with two rooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen/living room/bedroom. Do all the outlets except the ones in the bathroom have to be AFCI? I had my inspector draw a line on the floor.

One bathroom circuit two SA/GFCI circuits snd one AFCI.Don`t think I have ever wired an apt, with 4 breakers ;)

Like in the garage, you could install a single receptacle for a fixed appliance, and not install a GFCI.

That all depends on the jurisdiction.We were able to do just that until 1/1/05. The chief EI sent a letter to all contractors that unless the appliance IE: freezer, fridge,even irrigation timer were there at time of final these receptacle outlets were to be gfci protected :roll:
