The packaging should say combination type of not. I'm surprised they couldn't figure it out, but then again, it's EW, so I'm not surprised.

Exactly. I called the local EW (in Mass) and the guy was clueless. Had no idea what I was talking about. :roll:

Anybody under the NEC 2005 or 08 has no choice but to use combo type AFCIs as of 1/1/08 barring local changes regardless of the permit date.
