I was wondering if anyone has found a problem with the use of AFCI outlets and inspectors. From what I've been able to research, I can not find any codes that restricts the use of AFCI outlets and loads off the AFCI. And where to find this outlet in the Los Angeles area would be great!

I do not think they exist nor can they meet ALL of the provisions of 210.12 of the NEC.

Besides, don't all present AFCI requirements call for entire circuit protection?

Well, there is the exception to 210.12(B). It is easy to imagine an AFCI device installed downstream of a non-AFCI OCPD, per the exception, if some manufacturer was actually distributing such a device.
