That statement is about a thousand miles from what I wrote. When you connect the source to the earth the earth will conduct back to the source according to ohms law. Do not misrepresent my statement until you understand the theory behind it.
 
Well, I watched and although it is a decent video this part is kinda funny.

I know Peter was just paraphrasing, here's the actual wording/text.

The narrator, with captioning, says

"Electricity will flow in a complete circuit."

"There can be electric current only where there exists a continuous path of conductive material,"

(no caption here)"providing a conduit for electricity to travel through."

The narrator then says "And", (and is not in the caption, but is over-emphasized)
"Electricity is always seeking a return path to earth."

It drives me crazy when people are over emphasizing the fact that a ground rod or ground by itself is a poor conductor.
Trying to twist and spin the scenarios in where somehow everything gets disconnected except for the lonely ground rod as to how little current it will conduct. We should open a thread titled Ground Rods Stink.
I think poco should emphasize that primary and secondary is dangerous with potential to ground and warn you not to use your 35 foot metal FatMax to measure the riser up a street pole because if you hit the bare primary you will be toast.
They do not need to explain the theory of how it is connected to the source to everyone just to reinforce the fact that it will conduct to the earth.

At premises wiring voltage (less than 600 volts) the ground is quite good at conducting enough current to be lethal. It's quite poor at facilitating the operation of OCPD's.
