Would anyone know where to find AIC ratings for older and/or obsolete panelboards? Does the U.L. number help? I run across this when performing short circuit studies on existing systems. Thanks for any help, this forum looks pretty nice.

How old is old? What type of panels?

Prior to the early 80's many ratings were self-certified. Prior to the 60's, 5kAIC was common for molded case breakers.

One of the panels I'm working with is a Zinsco 100A 277/480V with 20 20/1 breakers. Not sure of the manufacture data even.

In the case of "unrated" equipment, I believe you must assume the rating is no greater than 5kA.
I agree, and have been doing this. Causes people to make an effort to find out the true rating, too! BTW, I like your Dr. Evil pic, funny stuff. Thanks for the help!
