Most nameplates on the back of the equipment specifically state to not connect the referenced equipment to GFCI protected branches.
You do realize that it will be nearly three years before it will be read, and another year before it could go into effect (in the 2014 NEC)?
The refrigerators can be connected to a dialer that will notify certain people in the case of loss of power, the GFCI requirement is here to stay and rightfully so.
