Building steel is considered an acceptable GE. What about buildings contructed from aluminum framing members?

Presumably one would want to bond the aluminum framing members, but it would seem they would not qualify as a GE since they are not steel.

Re: aluminum buildings

You know, I looked again, and it does not actually say steel where it refers to an acceptable GE. It uses the word metal.

However, take a look at 250.104(C).

Re: aluminum buildings

It appears that this means you CAN use aluminum framing members as a GE but are not required to bond to them.

This seems odd.

I am aware of that. :)

Do you not find it odd that those sections only refer to steel? :p
