aluminum feeder w/ copper ground?

I have a colleague (engineer) who would like to specify a copper equipment grounding conductor along with aluminum conductors, in the same raceway. Is there anything in the NEC that would prohibit this?

i would say no, provided you are not talking about a parallel run installation. why not use an aluminum EGC as well ? curios

As long as your insulation type and temperature rating allow it , there is no problem.

I agree with the others. You can have a copper equipment grounding conductor run with aluminum feeder conductors.

being as an EGC is not required to be insulated at all what difference would it make?
