I am thinking :)unsure:), that I had heard that aluminum wire is now manufactured the there is no "requirement" for an ox-inhibitor (spelling) is no longer required. If so, when was the new form of the wire started.

It is true that the new aluminum does not need the inhibitor however I don't know when it changed. According to an engineer at Southwire he said their company recommend the inhibitor on both copper and aluminum but neither is required

I want to say it came with the newer generation of compact stranding back in the mid 80's.
