Perfect. Thats the way ive always done it. Saves a fight. And time.I just cut the nails on the existing box with a SawZall, pull the box out, fish my wires, and install a remodel box.
Just did this yesterday. Don’t think I have a pic.
I have really bad luck with those long flex bits. Either I can't get them to go through the top plate or I end up drilling though the wall.
Well if you go through the roof you were usually a little more careless as you should sort of known how far you can push that bit before it is too far. Especially if not at the low end of the roof where you are drilling.HA !!!!! Roof !

then no different than at the low end of the roof especially if ceiling and roof are same pitch.Maybe thats a cathedral ceiling?
