I have a customer that purchased a used, open face spray booth to be used for painting. The exhaust motor is on top of and at the back of the booth, 10' from the open face. Neither the motor nor the existing disconnect are explosion proof.
Am I correct in reading 516.3(D) that this is an unclassified location? I'm curious as to the opening in the ductwork for the belts.
Two of the four 4 lamp fluorescent fixtures are within the 3 foot zone shown in Figure 516.3(B) bottom. All four seem to comply with 516.4(C) but the previous install has sealtite whips coming from all of them. Am I only required to feed the two in the zone per Class I Div II, or must all four be fed as such?
As you can tell I don't have much haz loc expierience, but I do have a decent handle on the required methods/sealing/etc. Thanks!
