Inspector left me a correction notice on my Service Change out. "Ground needs to be #2 for this service" - 200 amp Service 4/0 alum going up my riser. i used a #4 solid copper armored for my ground to my ground rod. Am i reading 250.102(c)(1) Correctly? This is what I've done 100 times before and it's passed. Please Correct me if need be.

Welcome to the forum.

You're both wrong; rods never require larger than #6 copper.

Read 250.66, including (A) and the Table.

We always use #6 stranded for the ground rod GEC. For #4/0 AL SEC's a #4 Cu GEC to the water pipe is the largest required so you would never need a #2 GEC for any electrode.
