Hello,

New to the forum...hi everyone.

May sound silly but here I go anyways.

I need a reliable reference of ampacities beyond Table 310.16. It only goes down to 18 AWG. My specific intrests are on MTW 22 AWG -1 AWG ( if they even make MTW in 1AWG).
I've just recently bought NFPA-79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery, 2007 Edition. I haven't received it yet. I am hoping this will shed some light on the subject. Can anyone email the pdf? It's only 1.9M. Thanks.

Where exactly on NFPA.org?
I went to the site, alot of info! Any particular direction, maybe a link?

Thanks

1-go to NFPA
2-site look up publications
3-find the one you are looking for
4-click it
5-will come up to buy
6-you scrowl down page there will be preview
7-you will have to agree to terms
8-then the document will come up
something like that

Click here and proceed following the directions, when you open the document you will see an icon with three lines that is the index.

ROGER,

thanks for the link. I have a hard copy of NFPA 70. I am asking for an AMPACITY chart that goes beyond 18 AWG. The NEC 2005 doesn't do it. Is there a link for NFPA 79?

thank anyways

Nevermind, I found it. Very Nice. I'm glad I purchased it. It's exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks for your help.

I like the preview aspect.

Can you point me in the right direction to locate that link???
You mean to find other NFPA Standards?

Just type NFPA ## in the search box ..."usually" the first link is the one you want - BUT - it doesn't come right out and say "FREE ACCESS TO NFPA ###" ...scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the "PREVIEW" link ~ if you mouse over it, you should see: "http:\\www.nfpa.org\freecodes\free_access_document.asp?id=####"

I've noticed that :
NFPA 70 is ~ free_access_document.asp?id=7005SB
NFPA 79 is ~ free_access_document.asp?id=7907
NFPA 72 is ~ free_access_document.asp?id=7207

Looks to me like there is a method to the madness ;)

Anyone wanna bet what ~ free_access_document.asp?id=7008SB is/will be ?

EDIT...just for fun I tried it:
