Ampacity of conductor

See post #14. Branch ckt rating is ocpd size. Branch circuit rating 210.21(B)(2) says can be 15A or 20A while 240.4(B)(1) has to be 15A for cord and plug multi receptacles. What am I missing?

What you are missing is that 240.21(B)(1) doesn't say that the ocpd size has to be 15A for cord and plug multi receptacle circuits. It doesn't say anything close to that.

See post #12.

Step 1 you need to consider the information known and determine the rating of the circuit
...I have 12 current carrying conductors sized #10 AWG THHW or THWN in one conduit. Lowest ampacity you say is 35A. Per Table 310.15(B)(3)(a):

35A*0.5 = 17.5A
...

...Each branch circuit is going to supply two L5-15 receptacles...

Given these parameters you have a 15A rated branch circuit.
Choosing the receptacle comes after the rating has been determined.
