anchors

I went to the link and the supplier seems pricey. When I use these expansion anchors I use water to get the concrete wet with a spray bottle, and use gorilla glue on the anchor, adding a washer and a nut. the glue expands under the water catalyst and you get a bond that cannot fail. This is for 1/2" all thread and 3/8 both.

the best option when hanging rod into existing slab?
IMO no. Rod hanger anchors are a much better option. Drop in anchors require you to "set" them (make then expand) by either smashing a setting tool with a lump hammer or using a special attachment on a hammer drill. Rod hanger anchors are set by just tightening with an impact gun and give you nice rod coupling to connect the Rod to.

Those spread anchors are all we used to use, Unless we were running racks. We would drop them in the pan above before the concrete was poured.
I think Rob is talking about this, 1763994448572.png
